How to Keep Food Freshness?

In addition for cooling, the refrigerator also works to keep the freshness of food stored in it. But this function will not be effective if the storage is not correct, the stored food is not fresh or even the expiration date has passed. So what needs to be known in order to keep the food good and fresh when consumed?

When Buying
1. Choose only foods that are clean and fresh / new. If food has an expiration date, notice carefully and estimate whether the time period in accordance with the needs of demand.
2. Get used to shop at stores that always provide new and fresh foods.

How to save
1. Enter the food into the container lid, so that the smell of food is not spread and the flavor does not change. Food is not well placed inside the refrigerator, will become dry and the scent will taint other foods smell and the whole refrigerator.
2. Save immediately a new food after purchased in the fridge, especially those presented perishable foods.
3. For foods such as meat, store in a sealed container, and put in a special chiller meat (if your fridge has these parts) or freezer. Note that fresh meat should be well placed to get the perfect freshness.
4. Wash vegetables till clean, and drain before it is stored in the bottom drawer of the refrigerator. If possible pack to avoid contamination.
5. Chill food / beverage that is still hot, before it is inserted into the refrigerator.
6. Note the storage instructions listed on food packaging. To a certain food, usually written whether you should save it in the freezer, chiller, or in other parts.
7. Do not store fruits easily rot like pineapple, banana, and melon in the refrigerator.
8. Fruits high-yield water like watermelon, grapes, and oranges that have been peeled, should be wrapped in plastic before you put it in the fridge, so as not to dry out.

Freshness of food stored in the refrigerator is also very much determined by the temperature of the cabinet itself. In ordinary refrigerator (conventional), the cold is usually less prevalent because only blows from one side of the back. Therefore, vegetables for example, only lasted 3 days. But, currently there are refrigerator door cooling technology with the equally cold, because cold air blows from the back and front door. So that the resulting freshness also doubled (vegetables last for 1 week). In addition, door cooling refrigerators also have light FIR (Far Infra Red). FIR is useful to keep the original flavor of food and food stain which are easily damaged. So, if the freshness of food is a priority for you, perhaps it is time you consider to have a door cooling refrigerator.
